Intermittent Catheters

Sterile Intermittent Catheters, as the name implies, are used for sterile intermittent
catheterization which is the gold standard of care for those people who need to be on a regimented bladder management program. The goal is to completely empty the bladder to maintain low bladder pressure and minimum residual urine volumes. This will help minimize the risk of urological complications, urinary tract infections and uretheral strictures resulting in the individual’s improved quality of life.

Sterile intermittent catheters are available in a variety of materials including vinyl, red rubber and latex-free and come in various lengths and French sizes including 8 fr., 10 fr., 12 fr., 14fr., 1 6 fr. and 18 fr. Pediatric Latex-Free Catheters

Pediatric latex-free catheters are available in straight intermittent, hydrophilic and coude
catheters in the following French sizes: 6fr, 8fr, 10fr.

Coude Intermittent Catheters have a slightly “tapered” curved tip or “Olive” curved tip making it easier to insert. These catheters are specifically designed for anyone experiencing difficulty inserting a straight tip catheter. For individuals with enlarged prostates or strictures, Coude tip catheters have been found to be much more comfortable and thus a better choice.

Hydrophilic Intermittent Catheters

Hydrophilic catheters have a special coating that becomes slippery when exposed to sterile saline water. Some hydrophyllic catheters come pre-packaged with their own sterile water and others are available in closed-system kits.
